What is a fanzine?
A collection of art, comics, writing, and other works made by fans, usually surrounding a certain franchise, character, relationship, time period, or theme. What is this zine about?
"The Hanged (Me)n" focuses on Mikoto Kayano from the webseries "MILGRAM Project". Contributors will be asked to make a full piece exploring any aspect of his character they choose, such as his life before/during MILGRAM, his system, symbolism, crime, theories and interpretations, and more.Who can apply?
Anyone, regardless of skill, experience with zines, or involvement in the MILGRAM fandom can apply. How can I apply?
Contributor applications will open after our interest check is complete.
For page/merch artists, we will be looking for at least 3 pieces that best represent your skills, a well-rounded portfolio of work is also a plus. For writers, please provide at least 3 pieces that are 1000 to 3000 words in length. Examples do not need to be related to MILGRAM.How many contributors will there be?
It depends on the outcome of our interest check. We would like to invite as many creatives as possible! Can I apply to more than one posting?
Yes, you can apply for as many roles as you'd like! Will there be sensitive content in the zine?
There will be no suggestive/NSFW content in this zine. However, canon-typical violence and depictions of sensitive subjects as shown in MILGRAM are permitted. Will ship content be allowed?
As long as it is not the primary focus of a piece, romantic ships are allowed. Due to their controversial and potentially triggering nature, any proship/comship content is not able to be featured. Will this zine be physical or digital? How much will it cost?
The zine (and all of its merch content) will be a free digital download on itch.io. A printable PDF version will also be available after launch. How can I keep up with updates on the zine?
Via Twitter and Tumblr! Contributors and moderators will use Discord as means of communication. Can I use AI for my art/writing?
No. The use of generative AI will result in immediate termination from the project.I have another question...
